92 Days and Counting

Yes, a little over three months and bean will be here!!! Woot! Last weekend Dam and I went to Target and Babies R' Us to register for baby gear. There are way too many things to consider when registering. I almost wanted to tell the girl at the customer service desk to just put everything in the store on our list. Does anybody have any advice on things not to register for??? I have no idea what brands are better than others. I have to say I am excited about all the cute baby clothes that are out there, but those can wait considering Elisabeth has been nice enough to give me all of Archer's baby clothes.

Now I know that I promised a few of you a picture of me pregnant. Well, that is going to have to wait a little bit considering my digital camera is broken. This camera has gone from permanently being stuck in zoom mode to now taking grainy photos with odd colored lines through them.

Soooo, what else is new in the Valencic house hold???

1. About two weeks ago (the Thursday night before conference) Dam was rear ended. He's ok, but our car is in the shop and won't be ready for another week. The auto shop needs to replace the bumper, lights, trunk and straighten out the floor of the trunk and the frame of the car. I pretty much have a brand new rear end (on my car). In the mean time I have been driving a 2007 VW Rabbit on loan from Enterprise. I have to say that the rabbit is cute, but I would never buy one; they're hard to get in and out of and the stearing wheel sits too low in my lap.

2. Monday I experienced some preterm contraxions. I woke up with my abdomen hard as a rock and I wasn't feeling Bean kick like he normally does. I went to work thinking that things would get better, but it didn't. By 11:00 my stomach started to stop hurting, but I was still having some intermittent tightening. I was still a little worried about Bean, but knew things couldn't be too bad because I could get him to kick pretty good if I drank juice. I was able to see my OBGYN's associate after lunch who assured me that Bean was fine. He was a little concerned that I was a little bit effaced, but an ultrasound confirmed that my cervix was still nice and long. Basically Dr Boyd told me to go home, put my feet up and drink a lot of water. If I was still feeling off the next day to stay home and rest; and low and behold I woke up still feeling off, so I stayed home from work.

The only thing that I can think of that would cause all of this was I pushed myself too much the few days before--Thursday and Friday before I had spent most of work pushing around stretchers and not drinking a whole lot of water. I also spent Saturday cleaning the house. All I can say is that I have learned the error of my ways and that I need to always be drinking lots and lots of water.

3. Friday morning I got to experience my first earth quake!! I woke up around 4:00 am to the sound of my bedroom door rattling like someone was trying very hard to get into our room. Quickly after this I realized that the whole house was shaking. My first thought was that there was a major wind storm happening or a tornado, but before I could be too alarmed the shaking stopped. So, I just went back to sleep with the rational that I would figure it all out when I got up for work. Oddly enough Dam slept through the whole thing. I asked Dam about it when I woke and thought that I had dreamt it all. It wasn't till I was driving into work that I heard on the radio that I had experienced an earth quake with the magnitude of 5.2.

4. Today is Dam's 27th birthday!!! We were lucky to have beautiful weather today, so we ate dinner outside on the patio. I made Dam's favorite cake--chocolate cherry with cool whip. I have to say the more I make it the more that I like it.
